About Toyota Safety Sense 2.0
Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 is the next generation of Toyota’s advanced driver assistance and safety technology package. It all starts up front, with forward-facing radar and cameras that can pick up a variety of obstacles in your path. The primary focus is stopped vehicles, but it also comes with a pedestrian detection sensor that can also pick up large animals on the road ahead. No matter what the sensor picks up, you’ll receive a warning that evasive action is needed, so you can swerve or brake to avoid the collision. Should you be unable to react quickly enough, automatic emergency braking is there to help you reduce the impact and, in some cases, avoid the collision altogether.
TSS 2.0 also includes an adaptive cruise control system with lane tracing, a new type of lane-keep assist that tracks the vehicle ahead of you as well as road markings to help you stay centered in your lane even around gentle curves. This advanced adaptive cruise system makes it even easier to focus on hazards further ahead while your vehicle keeps you centered in your lane and safely behind the vehicles you’re following.
